Digital Train Signage for PATH
Public-facing station signage delivering updates within 100 ms, built on a four-month schedule.
In 2018 we delivered the digital signage system for PATH. The software parses PATH’s custom binary reporting format and pushes updates to station signs within 100 milliseconds. As public-facing infrastructure, the system is designed so that more than half of the machines can fail and the signs remain in service.
Features include:
- Multiple layouts for different display sizes
- Operator interfaces to change scrolling text and to override an entire sign
- User management with a full audit trail
- Lightweight APIs feeding both the signage and mobile applications
The system was delivered on a four-month schedule and has been in service since launch.
